Steve Brine and Abdul Kayum are working to bring new play equipment to a close-knit Winchester community.
Local campaigner Abdul Kayum and Prospective Winchester MP, Steve Brine, are working to support residents in North Hill Close aiming to install a new safer children’s play area.
The small set of play equipment currently in use exists only through the kindness of a handful of parents concerned about their kids needing somewhere to play out in the Close.
Abdul (who lives in Hyde and is known locally as ‘Miff’) stood for city council in the area in May of this year and is collecting signatures for a petition calling on the council to take action.
He says; “There are some obvious sites in North Hill Close for a dedicated play area, we just need to convince the authorities that it’s desperately wanted by residents and that is what we will do”.
Steve Brine added; “This is small thing and we know it won’t change the world but for the children of North Hill Close it will make a big difference to their day to day lives. We all want to know our kids can play safely and I will do all I can to support this campaign”.
