Steve Brine has warmly welcomed news of an exciting new website to help people with dementia and Alzheimer's trigger memories of their lives.
Anne Forrest, of Winchester, has set up Memories UK Ltd, which takes photographs, videos and music from throughout someone's life, and merges them together to provide a 'Musical Life Story'.
Speaking to her local MP, Anne said: "Reminiscence and Cognitive Therapies are being utilised for Dementia and Alzheimer's sufferers. Musical Life Story DVDs can help trigger memories, initiating entertaining conversations and a very useful way to quickly inform professionals of the clients' true character, which often can be forgotten."
Admiral nurses, who are specialists in dementia care, have now requested that Memories UK compile their own Life Story for an upcoming conference in June, and the world leader in Reminiscence Therapy, Professor Bob Woods of Bangor University, is also promoting Anne's work.
Steve Brine added: "It was great to hear Anne's fantastic idea first hand, and I am very impressed at the services Memories UK is offering. The support Anne is receiving, not least from a world expert, really goes to show just how valuable these Musical Life Stories can be, and I am delighted to be able to support Anne in her work."
