Steve Brine has welcomed news that Southern Water is to invest £300,000 to improve the quality of treated wastewater returned to the environment in Sutton Scotney.
The Winchester MP has been informed that the company is upgrading its works at Gratton Close, to ensure the quality of the wastewater leaving the site is cleaner than before and continues to meet tightening standards set by the Environment Agency.
Steve said: "I am delighted that the current works, which serve around 320 local people, are being replaced with a larger and improved system which I hear includes some new treatment tanks.
"I have been assured that every care will be taken to minimise disruption while the work is underway, which is expected to last until December."
